Day 10: Brasserie Des Quatre Lunes “Saison Automne”

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Well, ladies and gentlemen, we have our first dud.

I knew it would happen eventually. Drinking a different beer each day for 365 days, some are bound to be pretty bad, right? I guess I just assumed that would be the Coors Light day, not the “boutique-French-wild-style” day. Alas, this “Saison Automne” is just a big old #fail for my palate.

I need you to transport your mind to the first couple weeks of autumn. Think of that particular smell that fills the air; apples rotting and falling off the trees, leaves decomposing in giant piles in every yard, the wet-dewy-swampy aroma of nature slowly giving in to the impending winter death. Now, take that smell and capture it in a liquid form and make it a beer. That pretty much sums this one up. Oh, and it pours with zero head and is completely flat. Yay.

The positive that I’ll take from this is that the autumn-rotting-vegetation aroma took me immediately back to my favourite nights as a kid. Back with school friends after the summer, out playing “chase” throughout our town, hiding in bushes and climbing up trees and running from each other like our lives depended on it.  This beer smells precisely like those fall evenings.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, no thanks to the beer.
