Tis the season for Christmas parties, and thus, tis the season for hangovers. If you have to have a “Hair of the Dog that bit you”, I personally recommend going for something big and flavourful and dark, like this gorgeous brew from McAuslan Brewing.  There’s just something about the bittersweet chocolate, coffee and molasses flavours in this beer that hits the soul like a gift-bag of Holiday Spirit.

And to be able to drink it while watching a completely original, soulful, genuinely moving One-Man-Show written by and starring a wildly talented friend from university? Couldn’t be better. The show was about an old-school Nashville music writer. He never quite made it and eventually died the same kind of tragic, young death that befell so many other artists.  But these guys had soul. And so has this beer. Soul that runs dark and powerful and deep. I’m talking Tennessee soul.

So strum the guitar, pour your heart out, sing til your guts hurt and fill your cup with this robust black ale.
