Day 20: Hop City “Hopbot IPA”

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Tasting notes:

Hop City’s Hopbot IPA pours a mouthwatering bright apricot colour. The beer is crystal clear and topped with a fluffy, white head which sticks around for a few minutes. A “West Coast Style IPA”, the aroma is mighty hoppy indeed and evidence of the five different hop varieties used in the brew. The bouquet coming off this beer is extraordinary.  Smells like pink grapefruit and lemonade, as well as candied tropical fruits like mango and blood orange. The piney, bitterness shows up mid-sip, as well flavours of freshly baked brown bread. The sweetness of the malt comes through near the end and balances out the intense hop profile. Hopbot has a surprisingly smooth finish for a beer that’s 7.1% ABV. It is hugely drinkable and enjoyably so.
