Well since I so entirely botched last night’s entry for Uncle Leo’s Red Ale, I thought tonight I’d give it a proper tasting note treatment.
Tasting Notes:
Red Ales are typically sessionable Pale Ales that have a sweeter, more malt-driven profile in place of an abundance of hops. A great representation of this style of beer, Uncle Leo’s Red Ale pours a crystal clear, entirely mouthwatering, firebrick colour with a slightly off-white head that’s fluffy and dissipates after a minute or so. The aromas are of freshly-baked brown bread, with some toffee sweetness. These come through in the taste as well, with a clean mouthfeel, smooth lager-like finish and just a hint of hoppy bitterness that lingers after you swallow. At just 5% ABV, Uncle Leo’s have brewed a satisfying beer that tastes like “One more, please!”
